Workshop Description

This is a half day pottery workshop suitable for beginners or if you have some experience of clay. I'll teach you how to hand build your own mug out of stoneware clay. I have a beautiful selection of flowers, leaves and berries for you to experiment with all picked from my garden and the hedgerows around my studio. You'll discover the joy of pressing them into clay revealing the beautiful imprint and patterns in your work. You can add words too with my selection of letter stamps. Once your pieces are made you'll be able to paint them with a wide choice of underglazes to create your very own unique pottery pieces. This is a small informal class of up to 8 people, where you'll get lots of teaching time and have access to all the tools and beautiful flowers you need to create your pottery. The day starts with tea or coffee and cake and a demonstration from me. We will then wedge some clay and get started! You can choose from a wide range of glaze colours, I will then fire and glaze your mug and coaster and post the finished pieces to you as a lovely keepsake of your day!
